Endurance Ride
Ride for as far and as long as you want!

This is the fourth year for the Emmaus Ministries Endurance Ride, and once again we have made exciting changes while keeping favorite traditions and events in place. We invite RIDERS and VOLUNTEERS to join us the weekend of June 9th, 2007 at LaSalle Manor in Plano, IL for a time of cycling and fellowship, all the while keeping the vision and mission of Emmaus Ministries at the forefront. The money raised from the ER will go towards helping men take back their lives from the chains of prostitution, addiction and homelessness.

Our goal for this year's Endurance Ride includes having 75 RIDERS participate and raising $50,000 for the work of Emmaus. We can only accomplish this with YOUR help! Please consider serving the men Emmaus ministers to by pledging to ride your bike on June 9th or by VOLUNTEERING to track, feed, massage/stretch and help RIDERS in and out of SAG stations for the entire length of the ride.

Ride Details:
  • NEW IN 2007: Childcare for RIDER parents!
  • Each rider must raise a minimum of $300 in pledges.
  • Route will be a 20-mile loop through Kendall County, IL (picturesque country roads and limited traffic). Riders are encouraged to ride as much as they can from 7am to 7pm.
  • Two SAG (supply and gear) stations, as well as roving SAG volunteers,
  • RIDERS/VOLUNTEERS and family members can stay overnight at LaSalle Manor June 8th and 9th. (Limited availability, reserve your spot NOW!)
  • All meals, Friday dinner thru Sunday breakfast, will be provided.
  • RIDERS are encouraged to participate in the Team Competition with a group of coworkers, fellow church members, or friends.
  • Saturday Night Celebration Dinner will include dinner, music and an awards ceremony. The weekend will conclude with a Sunday morning prayer service held by the lake at LaSalle Manor.


VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED!

The Endurance Ride would not be possible without the help of VOLUNTEERS. Please consider helping out at the 2007 Ride. We especially need those who have experience and/or training in:
  • CPR/First Aid
  • Bicycle mechanics
  • Roving SAG - (motorcyclists especially!)
  • Chiropractic, physical therapy and massage care
In addition to the above areas of expertise, we need people who are willing to serve the RIDERS at our SAG stations with food, drink and most importantly, loud cheers of support! We will also need VOLUNTEERS to serve as record-keepers, kitchen help, and a myriad of other responsibilities. Please mark your wish to VOLUNTEER on the registration form.

LOCATION: BEAUTIFUL LASALLE MANOR RETREAT CENTER

LaSalle Manor has graciously hosted the Endurance Ride for the past three years and is set to do it again in 2007. The Manor is located on 47 acres in rural Plano, IL and is owned and operated by the De LaSalle Christian Brothers. LaSalle Manor offers Endurance Ride participants and volunteers and their families a variety of opportunities for outdoor recreation: an in-ground heated pool, volleyball court, tennis courts, basketball court, softball field, horse shoe pits, football field and canoes for their lake.
